Exciting Announcement from Elegant Mommy's Owner, the lovely Shelly Gaddis!

Elegant Mommy has always aimed to provide parents with a place to go to where they can find information to help them make educated decisions about what is best for their family. Elegant Mommy strongly aims to offer unbiased and non-judgmental information about a wide range of pregnancy and parenting topics. Affordable maternity clothing is just the beginning of what Elegant Mommy was started for. We have always felt that there was a greater mission to our store and we are beginning the process to bring that mission into a reality.

Elegant Mommy has the opportunity to take a monumental step forward in fulfilling two of our dreams: having a separate non-profit entity that aims to offer educational opportunities to all families in our community, regardless of marital status, income level, or other status; as well as, to purchase a building where both entities can operate in harmony and yet have their own space to meet individuals needs.

Our dream for “Educated Mommy” is to have an independent location where families can come to get the research based information they need about anything pregnancy and parenting related. In order to accomplish this goal, we are dedicated to having qualified staff running Educated Mommy. Our goal is to have a lactation consultant, a childbirth educator, and an RN on staff to ensure families are confident that the information they receive is trustworthy.

The services at Educated Mommy will be wide ranging and constantly evolving to meet the needs of those who we serve. From private lactation consultations to free cloth diaper workshops, from belly casting sessions to small support groups for Moms, from car seat safety classes to Mommy & Me Yoga classes we want to make this the place where ALL families can meet their family’s needs.

In the coming weeks and months, we are going to be enlisting the community’s support to help us achieve these goals. We are planning a silent auction to be held via Facebook, a Baby Fair to offer information to the community, as well as opportunities for individuals to purchase space in our new building to show their support for as little as a $100 sponsorship.

We are in the process of establishing Educated Mommy as a 501c3 non-profit in order to move forward with this goal. We will be establishing a Board of Directors for the non-profit once this step is completed.

In the meantime, if you would like to know how you can help, please keep Elegant Mommy and Educated Mommy in your thoughts and prayers. This is a very large step for families in this community and we feel that we are being shown that this is the right time to make this step. If you would like to contribute to our Facebook Silent Auction, we will welcome the donations of goods and services. If you know partners in the community who would be a perfect addition for the Educated Mommy board, please send the recommendations to shelly@elegantmommy.com.

Thank you for all of your support in the past and we are excited to share this journey with you in the future!
