How to Make Play-dough

There are lots of recipes out there for homemade play-dough, here are a few I would like to share:

Basic--No heat required:
1 cup of flour
1/2 a cup of salt
3 tablespoons of water.
Mix
You may need to add water to get the right thickness.

Basic--Cook Style:
1 cup water
1 tablespoon oil (olive or vegetable)
food coloring
1 cup flour
3 teaspoons Cream of Tartar
1/2 cup salt
Bring the first three ingredients to a boil. Mix the next three ingredients well and add to boiling water. Knead. You may need to add more flour to obtain the right texture.

If you don't want to use food coloring you can use Kool-Aid packets for color (un-sweetened, not the kind w/the sugar in it!)
You can also substitute 1 tablespoon alum for the Cream of Tartar.
Make sure you store in an air tight container.

Edible--Peanut Butter:
1 Cup Peanut Butter (creamy)
1 Cup Honey
2 Cups Powdered Milk

Mix
You can use Raisins, Chocolate Chips, Sprinkles or Nuts to decorate.
*Warning--Be aware of peanut &/or Honey allergies when using this recipe!*

Edible--Frosting:
1 can frosting (any flavor)
1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup creamy peanut butter

Mix

Hope these recipes help with your next rainy day, fun day!
